The village of Aberbechan, including the River Severn from Newtown Sewage Treatment Works to Cil-Gwrgan
River levels are rising. Flooding to property is expected. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is ongoing. Impacts are expected to occur this evening. The River Severn at Aberbechan at the Abermule gauge is expected to rise until approximately 10pm this evening. We will continue to monitor the situation. Technical river level forecast information for those who use it; a peak level between 3.5m and 4.0m is possible this evening. This message will be updated as the situation changes.
